Abstract 概要

University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) is a student mobility consortium that has 23 active member countries and over 250 higher education institutions. In 2021, UMAP introduced a new strategic plan to guide our activities and programs that uses the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as a foundation for shared values, vision and learning in the international education field.

This session will provide a high-level introduction to the UMAP consortium, and how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are being implemented throughout the various programs and activities and how we are capturing the impact of the SDGs throughout the network.

This session will be informed by perspectives from the UMAP SDG Taskforce members, which currently comprises representatives from Brunei, Chile, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the United States. The relevance of this session to international education and the social responsibility of higher education is vast. Through our learning and collaborative process, we will share the trials and triumphs of working together in the higher education field to bring international education experiences to students in a manner that is inclusive, equitable, and sustainable.
